The Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Massachusetts (HBRAMA) is a non-profit trade association consisting of over 2000 single and multi-family builders, developers, remodelers, suppliers and other allied professionals to the residential construction industry.
The Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Massachusetts Charter with the National Association of Home Builders goes back to 1959. Local Associations, chartered or affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders, are automatically a member of the state association.
The Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Massachusetts (HBRAMA) is one of the 50 state associations within the federation of associations that make up the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
Local Associations
The state association is made up of six affiliate local associations that are geographically located throughout the state. Membership is accomplished at the local level. A portion of each member's dues is automatically applied to support membership in the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Massachusetts as well as National Association of Home Builders in Washington, DC.

"The Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Massachusetts is a trade association affiliated with its local associations and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Its purpose is to improve and maintain a positive image of the building industry and to represent the interests of the affiliated associations by maintaining constructive involvement in government and regulatory affairs in order to meet the housing needs of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and its residents."
The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) is a Washington, D.C.-based trade association whose mission is to enhance the climate for housing and the building industry. Chief among NAHB's goals is providing and expanding opportunities for all consumers to have safe, decent and affordable housing. As "The Voice of America's Housing Industry", NAHB helps promote policies that will keep housing a national priority.
The NAHB federation is made up of 850 state and local associations. About one-third of NAHB's 205,000 members are home builders and/or remodelers. The remainder are associates working in closely-related fields within the housing industry, such as mortgage finance and building products and services.
Founded in 1942, NAHB has a professional staff of more than 300 in Washington. Its various divisions analyze policy issues, take the industry's story to the public through the media and other outlets, monitor and work toward improving the housing finance system, analyze and forecast economic and consumer trends, and educate, train and disseminate information to members. The association also represents the industry's interests on Capitol Hill and strives to ensure that housing remains a national priority when laws are made and policies are established. NAHB also works with federal agencies on regulations affecting the housing industry in areas such as mortgage finance, codes, energy and the environment.
NAHB's Annual Convention and Exposition, known as the International Builders' Show, is one of the largest building projects showcases in the country, attracting more that 70,000 attendees each year.
NAHB's affiliates include the NAHB National Research Center, which develops, tests and evaluates new materials, methods, standards and equipment to improve the technology and the affordability of America's housing; and the Home Builders Institute, NAHB's workforce development arm, which develops and administers a wide range of educational and job training programs.
